| You
can choose to relax in our own home ("Les Quatre Oiseaux")
where we offer chambres d'hôtes (bed & breakfast) accommodation
with optional evening meal, or in our self-catering gîte ("Le
Chaudron") Where
are we? St Lucien is a peaceful village in the Pays
de Bray region which is cheese and apple country. Neufchâtel
cheese with its distinctive heart shape is the oldest of all the
Normandy cheeses (try it on St Valentine's Day). It is delicious
with a glass of local cider.
For lovers of something a bit stronger, a glass of Calvados is an
experience not to be missed.
The
countryside around us is rolling with picturesque villages
and attractive valleys, The "buttonhole" of Bray is a
geological depression running from Beauvais almost as far as Dieppe.
We are on the edge of the Forest of Lyons and within
easy reach of the Seine Valley. There are châteaux and museums
close by. Resorts on the Normandy coast are easily reached and the
beautiful, historic city of Rouen is a not-to-be-missed attraction.
And for a special day out, you can be in the heart of Paris within
two hours. Dieppe is the nearest of the Channel ports (1 hour's
drive away), you will have no trouble reaching us from Calais, Le
Havre or even Caen.
